Lockdown period can be tough, given that you actually have nothing to do. I mean think about it, all this time in classes, lectures, boring office meetings we always dreamed of this moment. We had so much to do that we would wish for that time when we could do absolutely nothing. So, now that we do, why complain? Coronavirus outbreak has taken a serious toll on humanity, causing more than 3,00,000 cases to immerge all across the globe. Given the reason that it has become the cause of death for more than 15,000 people, staying indoors may be a better option. However, not many grocery items are that available. Restaurants are closed, so whipping up something in the kitchen your only option. So, what do you do? Of course ask us for help, because we are Always there for you. Here are 10 recipes you can whip up in your kitchen only a few ingredients:

Pancakes:

Sweet, fluffy and absolutely angelic, a batch of freshly made pancakes can bring a smile to anyone’s face. Given how dark and gloomy our surrounding currently is due to this lockdown scenario, some hot pancakes can certainly change the mood a bit. Make them healthy by replacing flour with banana and eggs. Mash one banana and add two eggs to the mix. Stir well, after which heat up your non-stick pan and add some butter to it. Add your mixture and flip when golden brown.

Slow cooker Barbeque chicken:

As tedious as it may sound, trust me its more simple than making regular chicken recipes. All you need is some barbeque sauce, chicken breast and a slow cooker. If you don’t own a slow cooker then a cast iron casserole if you choose to cook in the oven will do. One can also choose to cook on top of a stove, in this case a stockpot might be of use. Simply, marinate your chicken breast with barbeque sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder and red pepper flakes. Cook for 4 to 8 hours and serve hot.

Salsa Chicken:

Buy some bottled salsa and combine it with your boiled shredded chicken. Mix well and then add it to your slow cooker (If you don’t own a slow cooker follow the procedure given in the previous recipe in this article). Cook for 6 to 8 hours and serve in pita bread topped with some cheese and maybe a dash of cilantro.

This is the simplest and the tastiest desserts of them all, and guess what? It’s vegan. Chop up your favourite dark chocolate compound and melt it by pouring some heated coconut milk. Stir until the mixtures have blended together. Now scoop your mixture into small bolls and place it on a tray. Let it chill overnight, to enjoy a bite of this sinful delicacy the next day.

Making ice cream is a bit lengthy of a process, but the end result is something that is beyond expectations. Simply peel four bananas and cut up a few strawberries. Place them in the freezer to chill overnight. Take it out the next day and put it in a food processor to blend until it becomes a puree. Freeze the puree overnight to wake up to a fresh batch of sweet, delicious ice-cream.

A recipe so savoury, that it will leave you wanting more every time you have a bowl of rice and nothing to go with it. Simply chop up some coriander leaves, the more the better. Ground up some black pepper and Jeera. Add them together in a blender with a few green chillies (depending on how spicy you want it to be) and mix. Turn your blender off when the mixture is a thick puree, add some lime juice for that zest and serve with pakoras.

Let’s be honest! We need something fried. Diet, health and good eating habits all go down the drain when we crave something fried. So, how about making a fresh batch of Onion Rings? Simply cut up an onion into thick rings. Separate each inner ring from one another.  Make a mix out of flour, salt and baking powder. Make another mix of eggs and milk while keeping a bowl of bread crumbs. Now dip each ring into the flour mix, then the egg mix, after which give it a final dip into the bread crumbs before releasing it in hot oil. Fry until golden brown and serve piping hot.

You have probably already, stacked up ramen packets by now, so making some stir fry ramen shouldn’t be a problem.  Simply boil some ramen until it’s cooked. Keep it aside, now cut up some onions and a few veggies. Heat a pan of oil, add garlic, onions, veggies, even meat if you want to and stir well. Add some oyster sauce and your ramen mix packet. Once mixed thoroughly, add your noodles and keep mixing, until ready to serve.

Egg salad Sandwich:

Boil some eggs, add mustard and mayonnaise, followed by salt and pepper for taste. That is all it takes to prepare your egg salad. Now take a slice of toasted bread, place a lettuce, add your egg salad and top it with another piece of toasted bread. There you go! You’re delicious egg salad sandwich is ready.

Szechuan Chicken:

All you need for this one is chicken breast, flour, eggs, a jar of chilli bean sauce, peppercorn and vegetable oil. Cut up chicken pieces and coat them in flour and eggs. Heat your chilli bean sauce in vegetable oil, and stir for 8 minutes. Now heat some more oil, and fry the chicken, then take out when brown. Add chicken to the sauce, mix well and serve.
